Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for Sr. Cloud Engineer / Architect to support the U.S. Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center, which strives to make a positive impact for Soldiers by providing science and technology solutions within the Army Futures Command Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM). The successful candidate will work as part of a team to develop technologies the U.S. Army uses on platforms from Soldier to ground vehicle, and from Air to Space. The C5ISR Center ensures our forces have the capability to see, sense, communicate, and move faster than our adversaries. This position will be located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD and will be an onsite position.  

 

 

Responsibilities

 

This position will support the U.S. Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center, which strives to make a positive impact for Soldiers by providing science and technology solutions within the Army Futures Command Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM). The successful candidate will work as part of a team to develop technologies the U.S. Army uses on platforms from Soldier to ground vehicle, and from Air to Space. The C5ISR Center ensures our forces have the capability to see, sense, communicate, and move faster than our adversaries. 

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure
  • Monitor cloud resources for performance and cost optimization
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues
  • Develop, implement, and maintain configuration of underlying cloud services, including but not limited to AWS, Azure Cloudfront, S3, SNS, and SQS
  • Administer existing and deploy new AWS EKS instances, ,Azure AKS, and related infrastructure
  • Develop scripts for deployment, monitoring, reporting, and alerts, ensuring a robust, redundant, scalable 100% uptime infrastructure
  • Analyze security threats and applicability to customer environments
  • Triage and resolve technical and user issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cloud solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with security and data protection policies
  • Identify optimal solutions, adhere to best practices, possess strong troubleshooting skills, industry trend awareness, and teamwork
  • Support the introduction, further development, and operation of cloud platform
  • Use DevOps methodologies for the deployment of complex infrastructures and services
  • Work in agile interdisciplinary teams with internal and external customers
  • Participate in the development of optimized deployment scripts and methods using various Cloud-centric platforms such as Terraform and Cloud Formation.

Qualifications

High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience)

Clearance Required: Secret Clearance  

Interim Secret is acceptable

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 4-8 years of professional experience with software development processes
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to continuous learning and adaptability
  • Strong understanding of Cloud Governance, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Dev “Sec“ Ops, Containers, Cloud-native, CI / CD Pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Security as well as Windows & Linux
  • Experience in multi-cloud environments (MS-Azure / AWS / Google)
  • Preferred experience with Ansible, Jenkins, Python
  • Experience with CI/CD tools preferred (Argo CD)
  • Understanding of containerization principles and frameworks preferred (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • DoD 8570 IAM or IAT II or III (e.g. Security + Certification)

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $125,000.00 - USD $150,650.00 /Yr.
