Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring a Data Architect to support our client’s contract needs. This position will be onsite 3 days a week in Washington, DC. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Directs the design of databases to  store, secure,  select,  and  retrieve  information in a  logical, orderly manner
  • Ensures that designed systems provide sufficient  controlled  avenues  for  access  to and update of the database
  • Ensures the integrity of the data
  • May oversee the design and maintenance of the data dictionary and retrieve transactions to ensure correct implementation and usage of the database
  • Providing technical leadership for a complex Enterprise Data Warehouse operations and development program.
  • This is a high visibility role and provides an opportunity to lead the development of Enterprise Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence and Data Visualization solutions for our federal customer.
  • The Solution Architect’s primary responsibilities include developing data architecture strategy, data integration strategy, developing data reference models, leading data architecture evaluations, assessing impact of change to data architectures, data models, messaging models, and developing a master data management strategy.
  • This role also includes responsibility of architecture delivery and governance to ensure alignment to agency data architecture standards and vision.
  • Solution architectures will include data models, standard interfaces for data access and value-added data services, metadata, master data including an inventory of data, and follow best practices for data creation, usage, and messaging exchange.
  • The solution architect will be called upon to provide hands on support in the development of data solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, information systems, engineering, business management or other related technical area with 12+ years or (commensurate experience)
  • 12+  years (or commensurate experience) of progressive experience in database management
  • 5+ years of related Government Contracting experience and HR Systems (i.e PeopleSoft, HRIS, Workday)
  • 8 years of experience in managing large scale, complex systems to include critical understanding of data warehousing and relational database concepts.
  • 3+ years of experience working on IT systems and software development projects using Agile/Kanban methodologies, including operations and maintenance
  • 5 years of experience of solution design associated with data modeling, message modeling, and integration 
  • Well versed in the data domains (Analytics, BI, Big Data, Operational Data Store, Metadata, Master Data, and Unstructured Data) 
  • Demonstrated expertise with transformation techniques, including but not limited to transformation, aggregation, decomposition, abstraction, and canonicalization. 
  • Excellent verbal, written skills, including the ability to facilitate effective meetings and to develop and deliver presentations/materials to various levels of audiences
  • High degree of professional confidence and credibility with the presence and communication skills to represent IT-related concepts effectively with executive-level management and customers
  • Resourceful and creative in solving problems and overcoming obstacles
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Clearance Required: Must be able to acquire AOUSC public trust


Preferred Skills and Experience

 

  • Data modeling, data integration, and profiling tools, e.g. ERwin, Embarcadero 
  • Hands on experience with Extraction Transformation and Load (ETL) tools (e.g. SAP Data Services), data profiling tools and processes.

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $145,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 /Yr.
