Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring a Financial Application Developer to design, create and maintain financial applications using a variety of programming languages. This is a fully remote position.

Responsibilities

Builds and codes applications and/or modules using languages and tools such as Java, C#, C++, SQL, the Spring Framework, etc.

Involved in the full software lifecycle development of server components and graphical user interfaces for financial software including planning, design, coding, software compliance verification, testing, deployment, troubleshooting.

  • Designs and codes applications using the appropriate tools and constructing software to specifications.
  • Maintains and modifies existing software applications.
  • Provides estimates for the time required to complete assigned tasks.
  • Identifies task dependencies and helps resolve roadblocks to completing tasks.
  • Performs testing and creates repeatable test scripts to verify that software is operating to specifications.
  • Participates in code reviews to assure that software adheres to standards and specifications.
  • Interacts with clients via email, phone, and online meetings throughout the software development, software maintenance, and software support lifecycle.
  • Assists clients with their software testing and implementation processes.
  • Provides status updates to internal and client stakeholders.
  • Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 15+ years (or commensurate experience) 
  • 5+ years of experience developing Java web services
  • Proven Experience with SQL, the Spring Framework, and application build scripts.
  • Experience with C# and C++ is a plus.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Experience with AWS is a plus
  • High attention to quality and details
  • Problem solving analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience communicating with clients and other stakeholders for requirements gathering and troubleshooting.
  • Self-organized
  • Able to work well in a collaborative team setting

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $108,310.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.
