Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Project Manager for our client in San Antonio, TX with strong expertise in Microsoft Project, with knowledge of PWA (Project Web App), Power BI, Planner, and Jira. They will be responsible for tracking project progress, managing resources, eliciting project requirements, and delivering high-quality project documentation.   The position is a hybrid remote role. 

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and timelines using Microsoft Project, PWA, and Planner. Ensure projects are executed on time and within scope by proactively addressing roadblocks and providing the team with all necessary resources, tools, and support to work efficiently.
  • Project Monitoring: Oversee project progress and performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify potential risks or delays.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting notes, and other relevant materials.
  • Elicitation & Stakeholder Communication: Lead discussions to elicit project requirements from stakeholders. Manage and maintain effective communication with clients, team members, and upper management.
  • Status Updates: Provide regular project status updates to upper management and key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and visibility throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the project team, ensuring a collaborative and high-performing environment. Resolve conflicts and address any issues that arise during project execution.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively suggest and implement improvements to project management processes, tools, and workflows.

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Expertise in Microsoft Project & PWA for project planning and execution.
  • Experience with Power BI for reporting and project performance tracking.
  • Proficiency in Planner and Jira for task management and collaboration.
  • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Methodologies (e.g., Adaptive, Predictive, and Hybrid): Apply appropriate methodology to manage projects effectively.
  • Oversee all SDLC phases, ensuring smooth transitions from planning to execution and closure
  • Adaptive projects: facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring timely delivery of product increments.
  • Predictive projects: manage and monitor each phase—Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing—ensuring strict adherence to scope, timelines, and budget.
  • Hybrid projects: integrate elements of both Adaptive and Predictive methodologies to best meet project needs.
  • Excellent Communication Skills to facilitate stakeholder interactions and provide clear status updates.
  • Attention to Detail to ensure quality documentation, project tracking, and risk management.
  • Strong Leadership & Elicitation Skills to lead and motivate project teams, and effectively gather project requirements.
  • Project Monitoring & Reporting to track project progress, manage risks, and report on status to upper management.
  • Clearance Required: Able to acquire and maintain AOUSC Public Trust.

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • PMP Certification (Preferred): Strong preference for candidates with PMP certification or equivalent project management qualifications.
  • ITIL Certification (Preferred): ITIL certification is a plus, particularly for those with experience in IT service management.

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $115,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
