Finance Intern

GovCIO is currently hiring a Finance Intern to support GovCIO’s Financial Planning & Analysis Team. GovCIO’s internship program is designed to provide on-the-job training and experience for college students in various fields. Our Finance intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of assignments, including process documentation, forecast & reporting support and additional responsibilities as needed. This position can be performed as a hybrid role in Fairfax, VA or fully remote role.

• Develop a working knowledge of the department structure and processes.
• Attend department and corporate meetings as assigned.
• Collaborate with multiple team members and functional departments to document business processes.
• Assist in various ad-hoc Finance related projects/activities.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Able to work 20 – 40 hours a week Monday through Friday.
• Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Possess an inclusive mindset when considering other’s viewpoints and the ability to interact and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to excellence.
• Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Completed coursework or pursuing or a degree in the area(s) related to finance and accounting.

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
