Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring a skilled and motivated Senior Front-End Engineer (Remote) with experience in Azure Web Services, user interface/user experience (UI/UX) and software testing. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of modern web technologies and a solid foundation in cloud-based application development and testing methodologies. This position is fully remote located with the United States.  

Responsibilities

  • Leads the design, development, and implementation of a public facing Azure web services website, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability. 
  • Assist to develop, enhance, and enrich the current website.  
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement high-quality, user-centric designs. 
  • Work with Azure web services to integrate front-end solutions with back-end systems and APIs. 
  • Optimize application performance and ensure scalability on Azure environments. 
  • Support the O&M and enhancement of a government system with a changing technology stack. 
  • Develop and refine new data sources and reports available. 
  • Assist in data sourcing and transformation into Summit Data Platform.  
  • Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end testing scripts.  
  • Develop security and accessibility of the information provided through website reporting, to implement cybersecurity, and comply with 508, as well as other regulations or requirements. 
  • Collaborate with automated test engineers to develop integration and end-to-end tests. 
  • Assist with testing and the creation of test cases. 
  • Assist in the promotion and deployment of code in all environments. 
  • Assist with Authority to Operate (ATO) Renewals.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver innovative solutions aligned with organizational objectives. 
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including Sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.  
  • Collaborate with your Product Owner, Scrum Master, and team in user story development, backlog refinement, story point estimation, sprint planning, design spikes, task breakdown, daily scrum, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives. 
  • Create new pages for existing applications based on low and high-fidelity designer wireframes.

 

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years’ experience  (or commensurate experience)
    • 3 or more years of experience working on federal contract. 
    • 3 or more years of experience in JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks/libraries. 
    • 2 or more years developing REST API services. 
    • 2 or more years of experience in React or equivalent Single Page Application (SPA) framework. 
  • Proficiency with Git, GitHub, and JIRA. 
  • Robust system design, application programming, and “clean code” skills necessary. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to a wide variety of individuals with varying technical skills. 
  • Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile. 

 

Clearance Required:  

  • Must reside and work within the continental U.S. and have the ability to attain and maintain a suitability/Public Trust 

  

Preferred Skills and Experience 

  • Software development/engineering background. 
  • Familiarity with serverless cloud technologies. 
  • Familiarity with AWS. 
  • Familiarity with Python.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $160,000.00 - USD $185,000.00 /Yr.
