Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Logistics Engineer SME to support Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs focused on building and sustaining partner nation capabilities. The selected candidate will contribute to end-to-end lifecycle sustainment planning for multi-domain systems, including C4ISR, logistics platforms, and Virtual Training Environments (VTEs). This role directly supports operations and engagements across Europe, Africa, Sooutheast Asia and South America.

 

This is an on-site position based in Tampa, FL, with occasional remote opportunities based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

The Logistics Engineer SME provides tailored logistics engineering and lifecycle support under Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs. The position involves logistics strategy development, provisioning analysis, maintenance planning, and sustainment documentation for international defense solutions. Responsibilities span system design through fielding and post-deployment support.
The candidate will coordinate with U.S. Government stakeholders, vendors, and partner nations to ensure sustainment strategies are feasible, cost-effective, and mission-aligned.

 

Key Duties:

  • Serve as the senior logistics technical authority and advisor on all FMS logistics matters
  • Oversee strategic sustainment planning across multiple countries and Combatant Commands
  • Lead design and implementation of innovative, scalable logistics solutions for austere or coalition environments
  • Define enterprise policy, standards, and frameworks for lifecycle logistics under FMS
  • Engage directly with senior U.S. Government officials, international partners, and OEMs to align capabilities
  • Guide enterprise risk mitigation strategies, sustainment funding models, and regional logistics capacity building
  • Support business development and strategic capture efforts related to global logistics modernization
  • Execute logistics planning and sustainment operations across geographically dispersed FMS programs
  • Analyze lifecycle and supportability requirements and develop custom logistics solutions
  • Coordinate logistics elements throughout the design, procurement, deployment, and sustainment phases
  • Develop and maintain Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements including provisioning plans, LSA, maintenance strategies, and sustainment documentation
  • Define support equipment, calibration, and tooling needs based on operational and environmental constraints
  • Advise on part standardization, obsolescence risk, and supply chain resilience
  • Prepare handbooks, technical guides, and training materials for knowledge transfer and operational continuity
  • Contribute to proposals, staffing plans, and international engagement strategies related to FMS logistics support

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance Required: Secret
  • High School diploma with 10+ years of experience in logistics, sustainment, or supply chain (minimum for Level I–II)
  • Valid U.S. Passport and willingness to travel internationally up to 40%
  • Experience in DoD acquisition logistics, product support planning, or lifecycle management
  • Vast knowledge in warehouse and government-owned property management, stock controls, and international shipping operation
  • Familiarity with logistics systems such as GCSS-A, ILAP, SAP, or equivalent


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • BS degree and 12+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field, or MS degree and 10+ years 
  • DAU Life Cycle Logistics Level II or III certification or equivalent 
  • Industry certifications highly desired:
    • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
    • Certified Logistics Associate (CLA)
    • Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt)
    • Project Management Professional (PMP)

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $125,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
