Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Cyber Incident Response Instructor to develop and deliver training on how to handle cybersecurity incidents. This position will be located in Columbia MD, and will be an on-site position.

Responsibilities

Plans, develops, and implements technical product or system training programs for customers, and/or employees, and field support personnel. Technical training may include standard, repeatable modules, customized and new product modules. Obtains information from customer and technical organizations, engineering, software and product requirements to prepare training programs; prepares lesson plans and training materials; designs product demonstrations; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids. Conducts training sessions, demonstrations, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Requires prior technical subject matter knowledge and experience. May administer tests. May include military trainers.

  • Confers with management, employees and clients to gain knowledge of work situations requiring technical training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
  • Creating and updating training materials, including presentations, labs, and online resources, covering topics like incident response procedures, threat analysis, and security tools
  • Conducting practical exercises and simulations to provide students with real-world experience in incident handling
  • Continuously learning about new cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices to ensure training remains relevant and effective.
  • Working with other instructors, industry professionals, and stakeholders to enhance training programs and ensure they meet the needs of the audience

Qualifications

High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance Required: Secret
  • 6+ yrs experience delivering advanced cybersecurity training, with operational expertise in incident response and related cyber domains
  • Skilled in instruction (ISD, ADDIE, Bloom’s taxonomy, SAMR), incident handling, cyber analysis, and communication
  • IAT Level II or higher

  • GCIH, EC-Council Certified Incident Handler
  • Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or IT

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $125,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
