Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Network Security Instructor to educate individuals on how to protect computer networks from cyber threats. This position will be located in Columbia MD, and will be an on-site position.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver training programs, staying updated on the latest security trends and techniques, and assess students' progress. This role often involves creating curriculum, delivering lectures, conducting hands-on exercises, and providing mentorship. Evaluating students' understanding and skills through quizzes, exams, and practical exercises, providing constructive feedback and guidance. Continuously learning about the latest cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to ensure training remains relevant and effective. Promoting cybersecurity awareness and best practices to various audiences, including non-technical staff. 

  • Designing and updating training materials, including presentations, labs, and assessments, to align with industry standards and emerging threats. 
  • Delivering engaging and informative lectures, workshops, and hands-on training sessions, both in physical and virtual environments. 
  • Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption). 
  • Prior experience in network security, cybersecurity training, or related fields is often required
  • Ability to analyze security incidents, identify vulnerabilities, and develop effective solutions. 

Qualifications

High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance Required: Secret
  • 6+ years of experience delivering advanced cy-bersecurity training with operational experience in network security and related cyber domains.
  • Skilled in instruction (ISD, ADDIE, Bloom’s taxonomy, SAMR), network security principles, platform proficiency, and communication
  • IAT Level II or higher

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $125,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
