Overview

GovCIO is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team in Doral, FL.

This position is pending contract award.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The Cloud Engineer III provides technical expertise by installing, configuring, managing, and upgrading operating systems in cloud computing environments
  • This includes cloud server configurations, patches, and troubleshooting
  • They assist with and resolve system issues and monitor, document, and maintain approved system infrastructure configurations and network security for operability
  • They monitor and analyze capabilities and performance of the systems; compare, evaluate, and implement new technologies; and integrate systems into the computing environment
  • They assist in developing system security strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Furthermore, they assist technology architects in overall cloud architecture, selection of cloud technology, and strategies for improvement of service delivery
  • The Cloud Engineer III provides direction and mentorship to subordinate staff

Qualifications

High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS in field necessary to assume Cloud Engineer III duties and a minimum of 9 years years of relevant Cloud Engineer III experience.
  • High School and 4 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree
  • A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
  • Five years of position-specific relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field. Experience with cloud-based technologies. DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification. AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect–Expert, or Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect. CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar (e.g., CCSP).
  • Clearance Required: Secret


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field. Experience supporting DoD programs. Expertise in areas of serverless computing, container orchestration, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), or specific cloud-native services. Government cloud security and compliance training, familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST cybersecurity frameworks, and other Government security and compliance standards. Experience with Risk Management Framework and Zero Trust Architecture. ITIL Foundation certificate. Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), AWS Certified Security–Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Google Cloud Professional. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer–Professional, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD). Linux certifications (e.g., LPIC, RHCSA), scripting/automation certifications (e.g., Python, Terraform).
  • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $145,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 /Yr.
