Overview

GovCIO is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Configuration Management Engineer to join our team in Doral, FL.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Establish and maintain the integrity and consistency of software and hardware systems throughout their entire lifecycle
  • Support the Configuration Management Engineer VI in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of configuration management processes and tools, ensuring that all changes to systems are tracked, documented, and validated, including developing and enforcing configuration management standards, automating configuration processes, and managing configuration baselines, with adherence to industry frameworks such as the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Development, Operations, and Quality Assurance, to ensure that configuration management practices are integrated into the overall development and deployment pipeline
  • Troubleshoot configuration issues, conduct audits, and provide expert guidance on configuration management best practices
  • Readily adapt to evolving technology landscapes and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Provide direction and mentorship to junior staff

Qualifications

High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS in field necessary to assume Configuration Management Engineer III duties and a minimum of 9 years years of relevant Configuration Management Engineer III experience.
  • High School and 4 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree
  • A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.
  • Deep understanding of configuration management principles, coupled with a strong grasp of software development and IT infrastructure
  • strong understanding of version control systems, and build automation tools and CI/CD pipelines
  • Five years of position-specific relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience in configuration management, with a focus on software development and IT infrastructure. Demonstrated expertise in implementing and managing configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack). Strong understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN). Experience with build automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Maven, Gradle), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). Relevant configuration management certifications (e.g., Puppet Professional, Chef Certification). ITIL Foundation certification. Familiarity with architectural frameworks, including the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
  • Clearance Required: Secret


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). Experience with configuration management in a regulated environment (e.g., SOX, HIPAA). Experience with agile-informed and Scrum methodologies. Advanced configuration management certifications, Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer), and Certified ScrumMaster.
  • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $145,000.00 - USD $158,000.00 /Yr.
