Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a DevSecOps (Java) Developer to support our customer, USPS and their Logistics Tech Services Group. This position is fully remote.

 

The Logistics Tech Services (L&V TS) group is positioned to provide the following support to the USPS business groups within Logistics, Transportation Strategies, Mail Processing, Engineering Systems, and others. This group:

  • Oversees the strategy, programs, and integration of business systems solutions for technology applications.
  • Oversees the planning, design, development, acquisition, integration, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of integrated business systems solutions for managed services. 
  • Directs the development of systems, application solutions, integrated environment development, and automated testing. 
  • Oversees the evaluation of trends and implementation of recommendations to improve and resolve discrepancies. 

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Technical Application Lead to the Development Team
  • Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the “why,” and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation
  • Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives
  • Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications
  • Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements
  • Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners
  • Ensure delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors to size and manage scope and risk
  • Provide thought leadership in industry and to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's with 5 - 8 years of software programming experience (or commensurate experience)
  • 7+ years’ experience in designing large and complex IT operations in large organizations. The position requires strong leadership and team-building skills, and must be able to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing individuals as well as the Executive Leadership Team
  • Experience with Azure, GCP or AWS enterprise implementations
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
  • Strong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies
  • Strong understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, and/or client/server systems

Knowledge with the following qualifications:

  • DevSecOps, Secure Coding practices, and the Solutions Development Framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Expertise with Cloud Architecture (Azure, AWS) and Design and Development
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
  • Strong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies
  • Experience developing multithreading apps, performance tuning, and debugging

Working knowledge (4+ years experience) of one of more of the following qualifications:

  • Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)

Clearance Required: Ability to maintain a USPS Public Trust clearance

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $81,850.00 - USD $98,000.00 /Yr.
