Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Network Administrator at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. This person will be part of a team that provides Help Desk, Network Operations, Network Engineering, and Cybersecurity Support for US Army North. US Army North is the Army Service Component Command (ASCC) to US Northern Command (NORTHCOM) and must be capable to stand up and deploy multiple task forces in the event of natural or man-made disasters. The Army North Information Technology Directorate, known as the “G-6,” provides Help Desk/Service Desk, daily operations

management, technical management services, and cybersecurity support for the Command.

Responsibilities

Monitors, controls, and isolates problems in a data communications network. Monitors all network activity. Activates/deactivates network lines according to established schedules. Performs first- and/or second-level problem determination (first level is help desk). Interfaces with users and/or network vendors.

  • Installs and maintains network equipment, including switches, hubs, and UPSs.
  • Performs site network proposal walk throughs, creates and proofs network plant proposals for participating sites utilizing software that creates graphical representations of communications networks.
  • Maintains and repairs the network infrastructure like operating systems, routers and other network related components.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves network problems as needed to ensure maximum availability, reliability and efficiency.
  • Provides on-site end-user training on system operation, maintenance and limited troubleshooting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 2-5 years (or commensurate experience)

Clearance Required: Secret

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience supporting networks including network administration and/or engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT-related field, business administration, or technology management.
  • IAT Level II Certification (e.g., SEC+ or equivalent)
  •

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $70,000.00 - USD $73,000.00 /Yr.
