Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Hardware & Software Asset & Configuration Manager with an active Secret clearance who will be responsible for identifying, maintaining, and verifying information about Hardware and Software Configuration Items required to deliver IT services. This position will be located in Arlington, Virginia and will be a fully remote position.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day tasks of IT hardware and software asset management and procurement
• Maintains records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and service agreements in the ServiceNow CMDB and/or another environment
• Supports wall-to-wall physical inventories, participates in Asset Management audits and remediation efforts
• Keeps in close contact with the vendor for volume count and manages the flow of hardware in and out of the warehouse
• Manages stock in warehouse (break/fix, deployment, customer purchases/scientific equipment)
• Works with the Logistics group to transport and deliver items from warehouse to warehouse and/or to user locations
• Provides timely and accurate reconciliation of lifecycle data relating to program assets and the asset tracking system
• Works with ServiceNow developers to incorporate hardware/software discovery into ServiceNow.
• Investigates and resolves discrepancies to maintain data integrity of the asset data
• Works with purchasing agents and other teams to manage the full lifecycle of assets
• Manages preparation and distribution of pre-defined and ad-hoc reports related to asset management
• Builds Check-in and Check-out license workflows in the ServiceNow Service Request module
• Tracks hardware assets throughout their lifecycle, identifies and reports on potential problems with the asset tracking tool (system/performance issues, constraints, etc.)
• Accurately tracks software license compliance and usage
• Establishes metrics and provides regular reports to POCs as requested
• Manages final disposition (excess, destruction, vendor pickup, etc.) of all software and hardware assets
• Notifies contract owners when renewal and expiration dates approach to prevent lapses in coverage
• Builds and sustains effective communications with all stakeholders in the project towards the goal of maximizing the customer experience
• Audits the execution of processes and adherence to policies
• Reviews licenses and/or contracts to ensure that hardware and software equipment is covered by the contract and properly documented
• Build and deploy Asset/Software Asset Management processes, requests, and ServiceNow workflows that will support customers' Hardware and Software Asset Management processes and practices. Engages with cross-functional teams to design and implement processes and policies supporting the Hardware and Software Asset Management lifecycle
• Accurately tracks software license compliance and usage
• Manages preparation and distribution of pre-defined and ad-hoc reports related to s/w asset management

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience), including 3+ years' experience supporting the Asset & Configuration Management (Hardware and Software) identification, tracking, disposition, and reporting of IT assets, preferably with an ITSM configuration management database, i.e., ServiceNow CMDB.

 

Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability.

• Experience with ServiceNow ITSM, Hardware Asset Management, Software Asset Management, and various Hardware, Software asset management tools
• Experience implementing and/or using ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and/or Hardware Asset Management and Software Asset Management required
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to simultaneously track multiple Asset Management activities
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on customer service, including experience handling challenging situations and conflict resolution
• Must be able to work independently and take initiative to identify, track, and resolve issues
• Working knowledge of service desk and field service operations is a plus
• Experience working on virtual teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong Excel skills are required

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $115,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.
