Overview

GovCIO is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Portfolio Intake DevOps Tool SME to join our dynamic team supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Portfolio Request/Intake Manager will be responsible for overseeing the intake process for project requests, gathering input for portfolio level action item responses, portfolio level reporting, managing the portfolio of projects and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and resources. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, project management expertise, and the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. This position will be fully remote located within the United States.

Responsibilities

 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all incoming service management project requests.
  • Review and evaluate project requests for feasibility, alignment with strategic objectives, and resource availability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather necessary information and clarify project requirements.
  • Prioritize project requests based on organizational priorities and available resources.
  • Maintain a comprehensive portfolio of active and pending projects.
  • Monitor project statuses, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Identify dependencies, overlaps, and potential conflicts within the project portfolio.
  • Implement portfolio management best practices to optimize resource utilization and project outcomes.
  • Provide regular updates on project statuses, risks, and issues to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Foster a collaborative and transparent environment conducive to effective project intake and management.
  • Manage and maintain Capability Area Categories and Key Analytic Questions to assign to tickets (target of all tickets).
  • Develop and maintain Capability Category and KAQ Metrics Visualizations.
  • Maintain DevOps tool Dashboard, Boards, Metrics, and ticket queues.
  • Facilitate full Administrative and Tier 1-3 request fulfillment.
  • Maintenance of ITSM Tool configuration.
  • Redirection of erroneous requests (often includes research into what is actually being requested).
  • Maintain Your IT Knowledge Documents.
  • Maintain workflow documentation, update SOPs, process flows, and PAL process document templates.
  • Create workflows for portions of request fulfillment processes.
  • Create and maintain request fulfillment SharePoint, confluence, and other DevOps tool sites.
  • Mentor team members in process flow design.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all portfolio level action item responses, including gathering input from FTEs and summarizing the overall response for executive leadership.
  • Support portfolio and product level collection and summarization of accomplishments, 30-Day and 7-Day milestones, challenges and issues for succinct executive level status reporting.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience); four (4) years of experience may be substituted for education for a total of twelve (12) years of experience. 
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Analytical ability to speak with customers to gather concise information on requirements. 
  • Jira and/or ServiceNow ITSM experience
  • Facilitate weekly intake calls with the customer to gather concise information on requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in regard to system alignment policies.
  • Gain an understanding of technical documents and recommend approaches on projects.

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
