GovCIO is currently hiring for an Architecture & Engineering Lead to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role focuses on advancing Veteran-centric digital services through the CODE VA site, including Utilities and Platforms management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of solutions delivery architecture within the VA, along with experience developing enterprise-level processes and procedures surrounding tool use, and a track record of optimizing software development process. This position will be fully remote within the United States.
Utilities Management
· Identify and implement automated methods for Utility Owners to provide metrics for dashboard/reporting in PowerBI.
· Streamline and partially automate the process of adding vetted and approved utilities to CODE VA, maintaining the architecture decision log.
· Ensure utility information is accurately reflected in VASI, serving as the system of record.
· Maintain and update the Utility roadmap for long-term planning and management.
· Add newly approved utilities to the CODE VA site and provide training for new Utility Owners.
Platforms Management
· Provide structure and logic to the Platforms/Custom Software Factory section of CODE VA, including working sessions with stakeholders.
· Construct guardrails and processes to prevent unnecessary or duplicate platform functionality.
· Identify, monitor, and publish metrics to measure platform performance and usage.
· Maintain a vetted platforms list on CODE VA, including usage documentation, support methods, and roadmap updates.
· Provide guidance on decommissioning or removal of legacy development platforms.
Architecture & Process Leadership
· Advance Veteran-centric digital service delivery by developing repeatable processes that optimize software development resource availability and performance.
· Translate high-level technical requirements into actionable, future-state designs and modules for CODE VA, leveraging private-sector innovation frameworks.
· Drive continuous improvement by publishing biweekly performance metrics to inform rapid adjustments and enhance software delivery to Veterans.
· Create and deliver training materials for Utility and Platform Owners to ensure consistent application of best practices.
· Publish critical software processes and performance metrics to enhance system accountability and transparency for stakeholders.

Posted Pay Range
