Overview

GovCIO Media & Research is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Events & Marketing Intern to support the planning and execution of in-person events and event marketing efforts. This internship offers hands-on experience in event operations, social media marketing, and logistics within the federal IT space.

 

This position will be remote located in the DC, MD, and VA area.

Responsibilities

  • Support event planning and coordination for summits 
  • Assist with securing and managing event partnerships 
  • Help source venues and vendors, participating in site visits when applicable 
  • Maintain event timelines, task lists, and planning documents 
  • Assist with speaker coordination, registratiosupport, and on-site logistics, to include attendee feedback collection  
  • Support event marketing and promotion across social media, including pre-event awareness, live/on-site coverage, and post-event recaps 
  • Assist with social media content ideation and execution for events, including drafting captions, coordinating visuals, and helping track performance and engagement 
  • Provide general administrative support to the events team as needed 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, hospitality, event management or a related field 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment 
  • Interest in events, media, marketing, or government technology preferred

      • Criminal history (past 7 years)
      • Verification of your highest level of education
      • Verification of your employment history (past 7 years), based on information provided in your application

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $20.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr.
